The Mathematics Behind Signal Processing

Abstract

An important problem in signal processing is designing sequences that have zero autocorrelation. This talk will discuss the significance of the autocorrelation function and how this problem is connected to some fundamental questions in harmonic analysis. We will also look at the construction of zero autocorrelation sequences and how one can characterize such sequences in terms of mathematical objects called frames.
