Intracellular metabolism of ingested drugs and toxins acts to detoxify these compounds but in some cases can lead to cell death.  In this talk, I will discuss three active projects that involve the development and analysis of mathematical models that link intracellular metabolism to cell population dynamics, focusing mostly on the mathematics of acetaminophen-induced liver injury.
