Each student shall present
her/his assigned CLT building to the class during the term. This oral
presentation shall be accompanied by an optimized Adobe pdf slide show
(export from PowerPoint) limited to
12 slides, including one slide that shows how to get to the project from
our dorm in London with a map (Google or <https://www.openstreetmap.org>
are good sources) and notes. Report how long it would take and how much
it would cost to get there. For London sites
Transport for London's web <www.tfl.gov.uk>
can be helpful in sorting modes of transit—including walking—and
fares. For sites outside London <http://www.nationalrail.co.uk/>
will get you fares and routes, but you must also navigate from dorm to
railway station and from railway station to site.
Please upload your presentations to the course
Google Drive folder prior to the due date. They will be available to course members while
in London as well as before and after.
Most of the assigned buildings are presented as a
two-page case study in CLT 100 UK Projects. Your task is to
expand, interpret, and analyze information from the text
and corroborating sources as well as provide color images
of and graphics about the project that explain the use of CLTs and why
it's significant.
Limit your presentation to 8 minutes!
Cite sources for
all images and for all information included in your presentation. Do NOT
simply read the text to your colleagues.
