Firms today are increasingly
recognizing that it is their human resources – their human capital –
that can provide them with a competitive advantage. In general, firms
can have equal access to the same equipment, technology, and raw
materials as any other firm. It is how their employees use that
technology and equipment, the individual skills and abilities they bring
to their jobs that can provide the competitive difference between
companies. And before we can have high performing employees we need
first to attract quality applicants to our firm. That is the topic of
the current lesson.
