CENTER FOR ETHICS* |
Looking for a Character Education Program (CEP) that actually helps young people think clearer? You've found the place!! CEP was developed by university research authorities and has been proven to be effective through testing and evaluation. Actual statistical data is available to show that cognitive learning is taking place. CEP works because students are challenged to THINK. CEP asks tough questions and forces students to find out what they believe about honesty, respect, and fairness. CEP and other character programs from the Center for ETHICS* at the University of Idaho have been featured on ABC Nightline, ESPN, BBC-TV, and CBS (national news), as well as numerous newspapers: Atlanta Constitution, Detroit Free News, Chicago Sun Times, Chronicle of Higher Education. To find out more...keep reading. What is CEP?
See the Cobb County project for an example of one public school program now involved in a CEP project. What do students say about CEP? CEP "does a good job of helping you recognize your morals and what is right... This class should be a class in every high school so maybe we can prevent the hard-headed rule breakers." Male High School Student "Not only does this class CEP make you think, but it helps create great qualities. Knowing how peers and other people deal with their problems gives you a better outlook on life. You understand that you are not the only person who gets into certain situations and that makes you more confident." Female High School Student "I think the CEP is an excellent way to teach us to become better all around people. [CEP] is definitely something that should be considered throughout the nation in all levels of education." Male High School Student "I think this class CEP is a great idea...it made me realize the importance of integrity." Male High School Student "This class CEP has opened my eyes. I show much more respect for people." Male High School Student "This program has been great. It was great to learn more about better ways to handle situations."
