Responses to Readings - Instructions and Format

Lifestyle Analysis assignment

Citing Sources of Information using APA Style Format

CBE Citation Format

Plagiarism

Students are required to write several one-page responses to readings, other informal papers and two formal papers during the semester.  The formal papers are a journal article review (individual assignment) and a project paper (researched and written with a partner).  Written work often requires citations from articles that have been published in peer-reviewed journals.  Specific instructions and examples of how to cite papers can be found using the links posted (below) on this website.  We will also have a librarian come to class to discuss how to find information, the meaning of peer-reviewed journals and how to cite various sources in your writings.

The UI Writing Center
The University of Idaho has a Writing Center on campus.  The people at the Writing Center are trained to help you develop your writing skills.  If you have never written a technical paper before and/or otherwise need help in writing, call the Center at 208-885-6644 to make an appointment.  The Writing Center is located on the third floor of the UI Commons in Room 323.

The link below was recommended by our librarian for learning how to distinguish between scholarly and popular journals and how to avoid plagiarism
