Supra Modifications

Since purchasing the car, I've been playing with the following modifications

Phase I Description: (Completed in 2006)

Engine and Transmission
  • Single turbo conversion (Image 1)(Image 2)(Image 3)
    • Turbonetics T04 60-1 HI-FI with .058 A/R undivided turbine housing, Stage-V turbine wheel
    • Directed Engineering cast manifold for 2JZ-GTE
    • Turbonetics Racegate wastegate
    • Wastegate returned to downpipe
    • Custom downpipe and mid-pipe
    • Braided stainless oil feed and return lines
    • Boost Logic T4 turbo blanket
  • T-bolt clamps on all intercooler plumbing
  • Remove EGR and install block-off plates
Electronics
  • HID low-beam bulbs and Philips ballasts on relayed harness
  • Shorty radio antenna
  • Cianci Performance hardtop specific A-pillar 60mm gauge pod
  • 60mm Blitz BLM gauges (Boost, EGT)
  • AEM WBO2 controller and display (52mm for clock location)

Cooling

  • Carbon fiber cooling plate
  • Brushed aluminum intercooler grill guard

Suspension, Brakes, Wheels, and Tires

  • Goodrich braided stainless brake lines

  • Billet aluminum coolant catch can

Chassis

  • Slotted front and rear brake rotors
  • Speedbleeders on all corners
  • Removed windshield washer tank
  • Altstadt 2-piece wheels (18x9, +45 Front, 18x10 +50 Rear)
  • Bridgestone RE050 Pole Position tires (265/35 F, 285/30 R)
  • Auto-x/street brake pads - Hawk HP+
  • Track brake pads - Hawk HT-10
  • Track brake pads - EBC Yellowstuff (no good worse fade than HP+)
  • Commuter wheels (17x7 +38 Front, 17x9 +38 Rear)
  • Commuter tires (215/50 F, 255/40 R)
  • Custom trailer hitch like Uhaul vertical receiver
    (Uhaul Images, Uhaul Stinger, AutoCAD Drawing, My Hitch, My stinger - side, My stinger - below, Stinger)

 


Phase III Description: (Completed in 2011)

Engine and Transmission

  • Turbochargers:
    • Turbonetics 62-1 (journal bearing, new style P-trim F-1 turbine wheel, 0.58 A/R exhaust housing)
    • Precision Turbo T67 (journal bearing, P-trim .68 A/R exhaust housing)
  • New intercooler (Treadstone TR1035, core size 22 x 10.5 x 3.5, baffled tank design)
  • New aluminum hot-side IC piping
  • Stainless V-band downpipe and recirculated wastegate
  • Wastegate adapter, Stainless 38mm flange to 44mm v-band (Vibrant Performance 1427)
  • Tial 44mm wastegate
  • Tial 50mm blow off valve (black)
  • Shortened lower waterneck
  • Billet aluminum crankcase catch can
  • Stainless T-bolt intercooler clamps
  • Hard aluminum piping to IACV
  • 4" exhaust system
  • Replaced transmission with new-style V160 from 97 Supra TT (40k miles)
  • RPS Max clutch and sprung clutch disk
  • RPS aluminum flywheel with segmented wear surface

Electronics

  • GReddy Profec Type-S boost controller
  • Removed stereo head unit, three 52mm gauges in place
  • Auxiliary input to OEM amplifier
  • Abaco programmable MAF sensor
  • Odyssey PC680 battery installed
  • Innovate Motorsports data acquisition (DL32, LC-1, two TC-4's, and SSI-4)
  • Innovate Motorsports XD-16 gauges (AFR, EGT, Coolant temp, Oil temp, and post IC temp)

Cooling

  • Power steering cooler (B&M SuperCooler)
  • Billet aluminum coolant catch can
  • Enclosed ducting from bumper inlet to radiator core
  • Additional ducting in bumper for intercooler (Photoshop image)
  • Larger oil cooler, ducted to passenger side bumper

Chassis

  • 2-piece DBA brake rotors
  • Speedbleeders on all corners
  • Hawk HT-10 brake pads
  • Enkei PF01 wheels (18x9.5, +45 Front, 18x10.5 +38 Rear)
  • Bridgestone RE050 Pole Position tires (265/35 Front, 285/30 Rear)
  • Four OEM rear TT wheels (17x9.5, +50)
  • Hoosier R6 racing slicks (275/40R17)
  • TSW Snetterton commuter wheels (18x8 +20 Front, 18x9.5 +40 Rear)
  • Commuter tires (225/40R18 F, 265/35R18 R)
