Blog & Wiki
A blog (an abridgment of the term web log) is a Web site, usually maintained by an individual, with regular entries of commentary, descriptions of events, or other material such as graphics or video. Entries are commonly displayed in reverse chronological order. The ability for readers to add comments regarding a blog entry is an important part of many blogs. Many blogs provide commentary or news on a particular subject; others function as more personal online diaries.
UIdaho offers a very basic blogging service available through UI Blackboard CE8 for use in your private course sites. If your needs are more advanced or you require a public site, you may want to use an external blogging service. Note, the external services below are listed for your reference, but are not directly supported by ITS.
A Wiki is a Web site where users can add, remove, and edit each page using a Web browser. Wikis are often used to create collaborative websites and to power community websites.
The UI doesn't currently offer a WIKI solution. Below are a couple of options for Wiki services. These services are not directly supported by ITS, but are listed for your reference.
Google also offers a number of solutions for connecting people and web content.
