Compress Image File Size

Overview

One easy way to help improve the experience people have viewing your site is to compress the images. Ideally, images will be 10-50KB, depending on size and complexity. Resizing images doesn’t change the file size automatically. However, SharePoint Designer and FrontPage do have the ability to compress the images for you.

Compressing Images

• In SharePoint Designer or FrontPage
• Open a webpage which contains a slow or large image file
• Go to View, then Toolbars, then Pictures
• Click on one of the images
• Click the Resample icon
• Save your page and overwrite the image
