Mentoring Guide for Educational Research
Situation: Many educators do not engage in educational research simply because they do not know how to begin. In our community of Engineering Educational
Research at University of Idaho we need this basic skill in our members. As our community continues to grow, both in numbers and depth, we need a simple means to mentor new members in educational research practices.
Goal: To address our mentoring needs we created a Process of Research mentoring guide. This guide provides a structure for a senior researcher to use when mentoring a novice researcher. A companion workshop presentation was also created to introduce small groups of educators to educational research.
