NOTICE TO HUMAN RESOURCES OF EMPLOYEE SEPARATIONS

PREAMBLE: Save for changes in titles, this section remains unchanged from 1979. For further information, contact Human Resources (208-885-3609). [ed. 7-97, 6-09]

A. Supervisors must be certain that the Human Resources is notified when the employment of any person on regular appointment is to be terminated. The termination should be entered on a computer terminal in time to be acted on by the Human Resources before the person's last day of employment. If time is short, Human Resources should be notified by telephone. [ed. 6-09]

B. This procedure is necessary to ensure that no person is paid improperly after he or she has left the employ of the university. In the event of any such improper payment, the supervisor who should have notified Human Resources, but who did not, may be held responsible for covering UI's loss. [ed. 6-09]
