7th Annual Inland Northwest Philosophy Conference
April 30-May 2, 2004
The Inland Northwest Philosophy Conference invites you to the campuses of the University of Idaho and Washington State University for its seventh annual meeting. The topic of the 2004 INPC is Knowledge and Skepticism. The conference will convene at 9:00 am on Friday, April 30, and sessions will run through early afternoon on Sunday, May 2. The Keynote Address will be delivered by Fred Dretske, Professor of Philosophy at Duke University on Saturday evening, May 1.

Invited papers may be on any topic related to either knowledge OR skepticism. With the exception of some of the special sessions, paper sessions run 70 minutes. Invited speakers have a choice of whether or not they want a commentator. Sessions with commentators are broken down as follows: 30-40 minutes for presentation, 10 minutes for commentary, and 20-30 minutes for discussion. If you do not want a commentator, then there will be additional time for either the presentation or the discussion period. Please notify me about whether or not you want a commentator as soon as possible.

Registration:
Participants will be required to purchase one of the following registration packages:

Option I includes lunch and dinner on Saturday and access to meeting rooms for conference sessions, 2 continental breakfasts, 1 lunch, 1 dinner, and coffee all 3 days. Option II provides the participant with access to conference sessions, 2 continental breakfasts, and coffee all 3 days. Dates are postmark deadlines.

The conference will begin on Friday, April 30 at 9:00 a.m. and end on Sunday, May 2 at 1:30 p.m. Please plan your travel around these times.

Travel:
You can fly into the Pullman/Moscow Airport on Horizon Airlines (1-800-547-9308) via Seattle. We can arrange to have you picked-up at the Pullman/Moscow Airport if you e-mail us your arrival time. Other airports within a short drive from Pullman and Moscow are the Lewiston,ID Airport (30 miles south) and the Spokane, WA Airport (90 miles north). You can call Wheatland Express (1-800-215-6386) or Always (1-866-215-6386) for transportation information to and from these airports. If you have any difficulties securing transportation to the conference, please contact us.

Lodging:
The University Inn is the primary hotel for the conference, and they have a special conference rate. You can call them at (208) 882-0550 to book your room. Please mention the conference when you call so that you can get the reduced rate. There are also a limited number of rooms available at the Compton Union Hotel on the WSU campus. Many of the conference events will be held in the Compton Union Building. Please call (509) 335-9444 for reservations to the Compton Union Hotel. Other local hotels include the Holiday Inn Express Hotel and Suites, Pullman (800-465-4329), Mark IV, Moscow (208-882-7557), and Quality Inn, Pullman (509-332-0500). Other lodging options include: Heritage Inn, Pullman (800-528-1234), Palouse Inn, Moscow (888-882-5511), Ash Street House Bed and Breakfast, Pullman (509-332-3638), Carstens Bed and Breakfast, Pullman (509-332-6162), Paradise Ridge Bed and Breakfast, Moscow (208-882-5292), and Peacock Hill Bed and Breakfast, Moscow (208-882-1423). There will be a shuttle bus service available to pick people up and take them to the conference sessions.
