| Steps to Applying to IFSA- Butler: |

Apply online to

Send the following to IFSA-Butler:

Program approval form signed by the official in charge of study abroad at your home college or university.

Recommendation form completed by a professor. Some programs require two recommendations.

An official transcript for all college and university work you have completed to date.
If you are a UI student, use the
UI
Transcript Request form (pdf) to do
this.

Eight 2"x2" color photographs. The host universities require these photos, and we also use them to make your student I.D. card.

Application fee: The fee for online applications is $30; The fee for PDF applications is $50.
-
Some universities require additional materials such as a second recommendation, art portfolio, music tape or writing sample. Internship candidates must complete an additional internship application.

- A $150 non-refundable application fee-charged to your UI student
account when you apply (non-UI: payable to UI Bursar).
- $500/semester or $300/summer UI registration/programming fee.
Charged prior to your departure.

For Fall or Academic Year: April 1
For Spring: October 15
For Summer: March 1
Note: Some
programs fill prior to the application deadlines. Students should apply
early to ensure a spot on the program. Also, the UI Study Abroad Office
will consider additional applicants after these deadlines provided space
is still available on the program.

UI Refund Policies: |

The $150
application fee is non-refundable
-
UI
registration/programming fee is refundable if you withdraw from
your program by the billing deadlines below. Non-refundable
after these dates.

specific program fees, please refer to your program's refund
policy on their website.
