Attend the talks or events suggested by your instructor or by others, including yourself.  Please clear these other events with the instructor first.

Write a report-critique of the event and you will be graded on the basis of 5 points per page.  Only full pages will be counted.  A style sheet is required on this work as well as every other work that you do.

Substitute points are not extra points.  They substitute for a low grade.  Let us say that you got a 12/20 on an assignment and 20/20 on a substitute point paper.  The 20 would be substituted for the 12.

There is a limit of 50 substitute points for the semester.  You may not replace missed postings with substitute points.  You may use substitute points for an missed assignment only due to illness or an excused absence.
