Nez Perce Historical Park Museum and Archive Tour
A trip to the Nez Perce Historical Park Museum will be offered Friday Morning, which will include a tour of the archives and collections. The vans will depart from the Best Western University Inn at 8:30 am, and participants will need to sign a waiver form just prior to departure. To register for this activity, please send an email to nwac@uidaho.edu and mention your intent to participate in the historical park trip along with the number of people in your party. Since space on the vans is limited to 20 and to ensure that we do not schedule your paper presentation for Friday morning, please register by March 11. Student Mixer
University of Idaho students have organized a mixer for all students attending the Northwest Anthropological Conference. The mixer will be held Thursday the 21st, 9-11pm at Mickey’s Gyros, located in downtown Moscow at 527 S Main Street.
Museums
The Appaloosa Museum, located less than a mile west of the Best Western University Inn (next to Applebee’s) on the Moscow/Pullman highway, exhibits objects and information illustrating the history of the Appaloosa horse. Hours: Monday-Friday 12-5pm, Saturday 10am-4pm.
Built in 1886 by William McConnell, Idaho’s third governor, the McConnell Mansion is a prime example of Victorian architecture. The main floor rooms have been restored and interpret various periods of the house’s history. It is located at 110 S. Adams in Moscow, and hours are Tuesday-Saturday 1-4pm.
Local Wineries and Breweries
Located in Moscow at 110 S. Main St., Camas Prairie Winery is north Idaho’s oldest production winery, and offers a selection of wines ranging from sparkling to table wines and honey meads. Tasting room open from 12-6:30pm Monday-Saturday.
Located in Pullman, WA, at 1300 NE Henley Court, Merry Cellars is a small family owned winery. Tasting room open 1-6pm Tuesday-Saturday.
Located in Pullman, WA, at 1335 SE Bishop Blvd. Brewery hours are Tuesday-Thursday 2-7:30pm, Friday-Saturday noon to closing.
