For each of the lecture topics this semester, you will find several instructional aids: a list of assigned readings, a topic outline, a list of learning objectives, a list of handouts for the topic, and all PowerPoint lectures associated with the topic.

In order to get the most out of each lecture and lab, I recommend that you do the following before each lecture/lab session:

  • Read and outline the assigned readings
  • Download and read the topic outline for each topic/subtopic
  • Become familiar with the terminology and learning objectives, and complete as many as you can before lecture, using the assigned readings and the knowledge you gained from BIOL 120
  • Download, read, and bring the lecture/lab handouts to class

These steps will enable you to take more effective notes and to ask insightful questions in lecture.
