Cathy Weeks Instructor Information
Cathy Weeks, Ph.D is a licensed Psychologist
in the state of Idaho. She completed her graduate work at the
University of Idaho. She has been in private practice for 11
years in Moscow. Her agency, Weeks and Vietri Counseling &
Community Services, PS, holds the contract for the Idaho State
Subsidized Substance Abuse Program. Dr. Weeks specializes in
treating clients with dual diagnosis.

John has been
an educator in addiction studies at the University of Idaho since
1993. He helped develop and implement the addiction studies
curriculum currently in place, and coordinated the program until
this year. He is an Idaho State Certified Alcohol/Drug Counselor
(1980) and Clinical Supervisor (1993). He has served on and chaired
the Idaho Board of Alcohol/Drug Counselor Certification and served
on the Idaho Governor’s Commission on Alcohol-Drug Abuse.
John has been
Coordinator of Substance Abuse Prevention Programs at Washington
State University since August of 1986 when he was hired to develop
and implement a comprehensive campus prevention program. He became
Co-Administrator for Health and Wellness Services-Wellness Programs
in 1997. He was involved in developing, implementing and
coordinating two previous research projects using the small- group
norms-challenging model to reduce alcohol abuse among high-consuming
college populations
In 1998, he
received a $280,000 grant from the U.S. Department of Education for
Project Culture Change, an alcohol-abuse prevention research project
using technologies based on social norms theory; he currently serves
as Project Director. He was one of the original members of the
Washington State Substance Abuse College Task Force and has twice
chaired that organization. He has served on and chaired a number of
campus, community and state task forces, coalitions and commissions.
