  5. John Shaw's Humanities Site,  the University Aberdeen website where fellow "humanists" can see and print out all or part of the 30 page field guide that the Scottish students are using on their trip, especially since they are going to some of the places we went to, i.e. Scablands.  From the link listed here, just click on the Changing American West Field Course.  The guide put together by Jon Shaw in Part Two:The Pacific Northwest, pages 9-23 is Jon's fascinating take on the region. I recommend especially his discussion on "our" Northwestern sense of place, page 9 on.  Part Three has a description of the three group projects the students will be doing next week. And Part One, Course Aims, Content, etc. should be of interest to Walter and others for our course next Spring. Part Four provides a good listing of info sources, maps, text and websites. So, something for everyone and should enliven any discussions with faculty and students alike when they are here next week.   From Gundars.
