This policy site provides links to current university policies, a search engine of all university policies, and information about new or proposed changes to policies and their status as they go through the approval process ("Track Policies" link to the left.)  Questions can be directed to the policy coordinator in the Faculty Secretary's Office at 885-6151.

Current University Policies:

• Board of Regents of the University of Idaho and Idaho State Board of Education:  Governing policies that provide administration with a structure to implement and comply with the intent of the board policy.
• Administrative Procedures Manual (APM): Policies and/or procedures that provide criteria, guidance and instructions for properly conducting and complying with institutional financial, administrative, and select operational requirements.
• Faculty Staff Handbook (FSH): Policies that cover many areas affecting students, faculty and staff, including both educational and employment (governance, evaluations, consulting, etc.) issues.

New or Proposed Amendments to University Policies:

In order to promote consistency in the development, modification, and presentation of university-wide policies, this site was created in 2006 to provide a common manner and format that is to be used for initiating all policy proposals that have university-wide implications i.e. those in the Faculty Staff Handbook and/or Administrative Procedures Manual.  All proposed new or amended university-wide policies and procedures must follow the process described in FSH 1460 and in "Changes/New Policy".

Violations of any policy should first be reported to your supervisor, a human resource representative, unit manager and/or the office responsible for the policy.  University employees can also confidentially report concerns about suspected issues of illegal, unethical, and irresponsible acts through the University's Confidential Hot Line.
