Introductions

Homecoming:

Sign up sheet for those who want to participate. So if you want to participate and you were not here e-mail alliance@uidaho.edu and let us know your name and email.

Ideas: Marching triangle, incorporate the meanings of the colors in the rainbow? How to incorporate?
Poster board – with meanings
Shirts – with the meanings
Mix of both, have sayings on the shirts and signs, can also use them during national coming out day
Triangle rainbow cloth, shows colors and keeps people in formation
Use multicolored shirts but have them say Gay Straight Alliance instead and let the posters have the sayings on them. Allows people to also know who we are.
Use the GSA shirts but also include national coming out day on the shirt
Shirt prices next week
Viking helmets, 30 dollars for 10, so three dollars each if you want one. Helmets can be rainbowized if you want
Body Paint? Does anyone want it? Pro statement for body paint: will make it memorable, draws peoples’ attention. Final statement: use your own judgment, if you want to do it, you can.
No naked people at the parade!!!!

Coming Out Day

Committee Decisions:
Doing buttons instead of key chains
Giving out food item: Skittles, taste the rainbow
Found coming out door; no visible water damage but lots of spider webs

Planned Activities
Video: maybe coming out video, maybe another film
Tabling, week before and week of – promote HJR2
Run by chalking!!! Graffiti artist along with out such fun stuff
Flyering party
Banners in the commons
Have SODA do a discussion
Have shirts for unified effect, maybe the homecoming shirts?
Maybe have different phrases around the door like “Closets are for fabulous cloths” etc. Maybe also use them for flyers

WSU:

They are working on their own Coming out day

Up all Night, Oct. 13th- will have coming out cookies that you can decorate rainbow style

Friday during the day they will have a drag show

Activities last all week

Have a movie

Interfaith dialogue, gay friendly and non gay friendly churches

Rave is being postponed for the moment

Unity

Unity train, do we want to join, need to make a decision

Must come to meetings and participate in two unity events a year; first one coming up is a Unity Retreat, Sept. 29-Oct. 1. Registration is due Thursday at midnight. Unity would like at least two people to go, preferably leaders. The retreat is free, transportation is provided, along with lodging and food. Should be fun!!

Other

Voted for using 20 bucks to join a service that lets us know about different grant possibilities

Panel next Tuesday from 2-3:15 for Sex and culture class, if you can volunteer please email and let us know

Inland Oasis will be meeting tomorrow night at 6pm at the daily ground; they are doing outreach to students
