Born, though not raised, in Idaho, I graduated from Albertson College
of Idaho in 1961. After earning a Master's degree in physics, I saw the
light and went on to receive a Ph. D. in mathematics from the University
of New Mexico in 1966. I came to the University of Idaho in 1967 after
a year's postdoctoral study at New York University's Courant Institute
of Mathematical Sciences.
Research Interests
My original field of research endeavor was singularly perturbed partial
differential equations. In addition, I have long had an interest in mathematical
biology. Most of my recent research has been concerned with reaction-diffusion
systems or with the question of existence of solutions to problems for
nonlinear ordinary differential equations, especially nonlocal or otherwise
nonstandard problems.
