Monument FE06 is located on top of a pre-1982 spatter cone ridge (the highest cone in the circumferential set) immediately upslope (towards the caldera) of the first 1982 eruptive vent.  This 1982 eruptive vent sent a lava flow as far as the break in slope (the outer edge of the summit platform).  The FE06 benchmark is situated ~20m above these 1982 vents and ~300m below the vegetated caldera rim.  There is an old, vegetated spatter ridge between the site and the caldera rim.
