(N caldera rim)

Monument FE13 is situated on a young vent west-northwest of the high point on the caldera rim.  The site is 10m W of the highest point on this vent (vent of Rowland's #67 flow).

Getting to FE13 from FE05:

1. From camp 5, head for fresh scoria hill that appears just below jungle.
2. Get on this fissure and follow its crest around to the NNE.
3. At end of the fissure, skirt fresh lava at its upper end.
4. Get in the jungle and get really lost and confused even though you're only 200 m away from FE13.

The site was vandalized between Jan. 2001 and June 2002.  The monument had been removed
by chipping away at the rock around it. The monument fit into the cast pretty well though;
estimated maximum displacement is ± 1 cm.
