SN04

2/27/00

00 50.71 S LATITUDE
91 06.95 W LONGITUDE

General Location and Strategy: SN04 is located on the southern caldera rim. It is meant to detect any movement of this sector of the volcano.

Days measured: 03 Jan 00 - 04 Jan 00

(Rebar monument; off Azufre trail, S caldera rim)

Field Notes:

(Small and Naumann)

[Caldera rim, intermediate between Station 3 (at the small ranch/ store/ building at the end of the road from Villamil) and Station 5 (on the rim above Azufre)].  Rebar monument is located 8m from the caldera rim at the summit of a topographic high.  Monument is projecting from the ground 8cm where the entire 2m rebar was driven into the ground (with cross sawed onto top of rebar).
Bearing to the right edge of Darwin's Caldera is due north (no magnetic declination set).

Antenna height to base: 51.1cm + 10.8cm = 0.619m
Antenna offset: 0.353m

Power up: 12:35h (local), 03 Jan 00
Power down:  15:45h (local), 04 Jan 00

(Airphoto: SN04 located directly N from no. 4 position -- the location was estimated using the caldera rim morphology and sightings to the a'a flows on the caldera floor.  The next topographic high along the rim is the highest part of the southern rim on the prominent ridge/ promintory (slight) west of station SN08.)

2000 results:

SN04 was processed twice. Results from 1/3 were calculated assuming SN01 base was fixed. Results from 1/4 were calculated assuming SN11 fixed (SN01 was out for about 12 hours on 1/4/00).

The reported uncertainty uses the sigma of the single difference observations as a scaling factor.
