General Location and Strategy: SN13 is located on the NW flank of the volcano. It is just below the 1979 rift zone. In the event of an eruption, there is a good chance it could be lost.

Field Notes: SN13 is located on a slightly weathered kipuka 100 m NW of the most prominent fissure. Monument is a 5 cm long aluminum stake with a cross filed in the top.

Getting there is hard, especially descending from the caldera rim down through the vent system. The best route is to bear right (north) from SN10 through a low point in the rim. Keep an eye out for a broad orange smooth slope.

Site is to the right and 200 m behind the prominent square-topped cone.
