Monument SN16 is located on the northeast coast of Sierra Negra, on the north edge of the bay; the site sits on a nondescript pahoehoe flow.  The latitude and longitude are very close to that predicted by Chadwick and Howard's Sierra Negra vent map.  Lots of boobies and guano and barnacles!

2000 Results

SN16 was occupied while the Fernandina campaign was being occupied. Unfortunately, it was making measurements at a time when the reference station (FE01) was dead. Consequently, its location is determined by fixing IGS stations AREQ and RIOP and processing that way.
