We saw bunches of exotic wildlife; here, a recently reintroduced wolf is stalking a small elk.

The particularly intrepid students scan the countryside looking for isograds.

Here Dennis points at an isograd. "It's right there, you can see it".

A beautiful sunset on the Little North Fork of the Clearwater River.

Matt carefully stalks an elk at the summit of Garnet Ridge.

Looks like more staurolite to me.

The students find their own staurolite

Chad is panting, after he and Carrie stalk this recently reintroduced wolf.

Carrie searches for truth near the kyanite-in isograd.

At night, experimental petrology was the rule. Here, Matt runs a lab simulating the welding of glass.

The highlight of the trip is always the joyous singing of funny petrology songs around the campfire, after a hard day in the field.
