Announcements and News: Geology 101

    1. Question 29 on the exam has 2 possible answers. First, one could interpret the ridge as having been continuous and then cut by a left-lateral fault. The alternative interpretation is that the fault has been there the whole time, while the plates are spreading, thus would be right-lateral. So both answers are correct.
    2. Apparently, the exam was tougher than I intended. The median for this exam was 27 points (or 68%). Here's how the curve stands, based on 120 possible points (which does not incorporate your lab grade or any extra credit you have done):
    3. A 96+ (26% of the class)

      B 84-95 (28% of the class)

      C 72-83 (23% of the class)

      D 60-71 (13% of the class)

    4. There is a modification to the syllabus: There is class on April 24. Class is cancelled on April 28 and May 1.
    5. Exam 3 is on April 19.
    6.  Field trips depart from Lot 47 at 9 and 9:30.
