I regularly serve on committees at every level of the University of Idaho. I am new to the role of chair of the graduate studies committee but look forward to supporting the MLA students and helping them advance through the program.

I also serve on the University of Idaho Arboretum Executuve Committee.

My new 2013 assignment is to serve on the college external assessment committee.

paving, walls, rain harvesting tanks, irrigation and plantings were designed, detailed and installed by students.

I contribute to the university by responding to requests for design studies either through course projects or donating my own services. The Asian pergola in the University Arboretum, the outdoor stage at the university Hartung Theater and the Art and Architecture building landscape are three projects of this type.

The Asian pergola was the result of a construction detailing assignment and competition. The pergola featues vines, such as Clematus species. I was the construction studio professor and worked with the facilities management people and the arboretum director.

The seating and retaining walls and garden on the east side of the Art and Architecture building was constructed by landscape architecture students and service learning students and funded by a grant acquired by Robert Farnsworth I was the faculty supervisor for the project.

The theater stage was a project that I developed with a student, Tim Nash.
