Dr. Hrdlicka obtained his Chemistry degrees from the Univ. Southern Denmark (B.Sc 2000, M.Sc. 2004, Ph.D. 2006) and innitiated his independent research career at UI immediately thereafter. His research has been disseminated in >30 publications, which have been cited >475 times by ~240 publications. Research in the Hrdlicka laboratory is supported by NIH-EUREKA RO1, DoD, USDA and INBRE-ITHS. Dr. Hrdlicka received the UI College of Science, Early Career Faculty Award in 2010 and the inaugural President’s Mid-career Faculty Award in 2012. He is an adjuct faculty in the Department of Chemistry at Washington State University. His research interests include:

• Applications of chemically modified oligonucleotides and nanomaterials within therapeutics, diagnostics and material science
• Synthetic bioorganic chemistry, including carbohydrate, nucleoside and oligonucleotide chemistry
• Development of sensors for millitary explosives
