Dr. Hrdlicka obtained his Chemistry degrees from the Univ. Southern Denmark (B.Sc 2000, M.Sc. 2004, Ph.D. 2006). He accepted the position of Assistant Professor of Bioorganic Chemistry in 2006 and was promoted to Associate Professor in 2011. He is an adjuct faculty of the Chemistry Department at Washington St. Univ. and of the Department of Biological Sciences at Univ. Idaho. He has published ~40 peer-reviewed articles, which have been cited >600 times in ~300 publications. Research in the Hrdlicka laboratory enjoys support by NIH-EUREKA, DoD/ONR, and Idaho SBOE. Dr. Hrdlicka is the recipient of the 2010 Univ. Idaho, College of Science, Early Career Faculty Award and the inaugural President’s Mid-career Faculty Award (2012). His research interests include:

• Applications of chemically modified oligonucleotides and nanomaterials within therapeutics, diagnostics and material science
• Synthetic organic chemistry with an emphasis on heterocyclic, carbohydrate, nucleoside and oligonucleotide chemistry
• Development of sensors for millitary explosives
