Agricultural Sciences Career Major

This Major includes courses that help students who are interested in jobs like Horticulturists, Agronomists, Animal Scientists, Plant Scientist, Farmers and Ranchers, and Veterinary Technicians.

Tools/Equipment

 

Using, maintaining, and repairing the tools and equipment used by the agricultural industry.
 
Science/Research
  Learning principles of science and conducting basic research related to plants and animals.

Identifying different domestic breeds of animals, and studying wild and domestic plants that are used for food, clothing or shelter.
Growing/Producing
  Producing, processing, and marketing products that are derived from plants and animals.

Working in outdoor locations doing tasks that are required of workers engaged in agricultural careers.

Agricultural Research Methods

 

You will be given a field map and asked to position the plot where it would deliver desirable data. Design an experiment on something such as field position, crop variety, soil type, etc. Once you have chosen an experiment, you will need to randomize and replicate the trial, then draw the trial you have developed onto the field map.
