What you learn in the next few years will help you decide what you will be in this new century. Are you ready? Do you know what you are good at and what you are interested in that could lead to a career?

Why should I be interested in this?

At the end of this school year, you will be asked to plan out the next four years of high school education. Do you know what kinds of classes you want and need? What are you good at doing? What seems interesting? Are there classes that you could take that would help? What if you don't know what you are good at? We offer you this challenge.

The challenge is to follow this Web program and try out over 25 different career activities that will help you to find or prove your strengths and interests. In the end, you will know which classes would help you in high school and after high school.

How do I start?

To begin, move your mouse over the planets on the Pathways Home page. Different Career Majors will pop up. If one looks interesting, click on that planet and follow the directions to start exploring.

If you are not sure what you are interested in, click on the CAREER INVENTORY link. There you can answer some questions that lead to a Career Major that will be a good place to start. You may find out that you are interested in something you have not even thought about!

What's left?

Each Career Major has additional Web site links that will help you see what jobs in these areas are REALLY like, what people do each day, and what happens in this type of career. The links will also tell you about the many types of jobs that are in this career path and what types of training are needed.

Go back to the Career Pathways Home page....Have fun, find some activities you do well, check out some things that look interesting, and then follow the links to the jobs that you would enjoy and succeed in.
