Grade using Rubric

Rubrics can be used to help explain evaluations to students, and can help ensure consistent and impartial grading.

  • From the Control Panel, expand the Grade Center.
  • Click on Full Grade Center.
  • Click the option menu next to an assignment submission that needs to be graded.
  • Click on the Attempt.
    Note: Depending on the type of assignment, blog, test, etc. which you may be grading, this step may be slightly different. Click to view the student's submission.
  • Review the student's submission on the left side of the screen.
  • Click on the down arrow (circled in red below) to open up the location containing a link to the Rubric and to the Feedback to Learner field.
  • Click on the link provided to open up your Rubric inline next to the student submission. Or click on the icon (circled below) to open up your Rubric in a new window. Note: Other types of graded activities such as discussions or blogs will have a View Rubric button on the right side of the page.
  • Shown below is what the rubric looks like when displayed inline.
  • Score the submission by clicking on the round "radio" button for the rubric score you'd like to give.
  • Enter feedback you'd like to provide the student.
  • Press Save Rubric when you done.
  • Shown below is what the rubric looks like when displayed in a new window.
  • Score the submission by clicking on the round "radio" button for the rubric score you'd like to give.
  • Enter feedback you'd like to provide the student.
  • Press Save when you done.
  • BbLearn will automatically total the score for you and enter it into correct field.
  • Leave additional feedback for the student if you like.
  • Press Submit to save the grade.
  • Bblearn will display a Success message indicating the assignment has been graded.
  • You will also see the score in the Full Grade Center.
