Flow Visualization in Acoustically Levitated Water Droplets:  
Terry Stephens M.S.

Particle path line pictures were created by utilizing a laser sheet to illuminate fluorescent particles within the cross sectional flow inside droplets suspended within the 3-axis levitator and air system. Time exposures ranged from 1/60s to 1/15s. Air jet velocity 26-30 ft/sec. These images below are to scale with the 100th inch ruler shown.  Each droplet is rated on:
Size:         Big > 5mm or Small < 5mm.
Shape:      Round = meaning no acoustic distortion or Flat = moderate to severe distortion   

Flow:        Good = Hadamard-Rybczynski (HR) circulatory flow or Bad = random flow
