Presentation Skills for Scientists

Course Description: A hands-on course to master the skills required for oral presentations for research, teaching, and outreach. A detailed examination of all elements that must be integrated and mastered for an effective and engaging oral presentation.

Recommended preparation: Proficiency with computer software, including programs for: presentations (e.g., PowerPoint, Prezi, Flash, Toolbook Instructor, Director), photo-and object-editing (e.g., Adobe Photoshop and Illustrator, Corel Photopaint and Draw), scientific graphics (e.g., SigmaPlot), mapping (e.g., ArcView), and flow diagrams (e.g., Visio).
