Assignment Overview

This first assignment is designed to ensure you understand the terms you will encounter in this course related to vegetation measurement and assessment.

• Read all required readings and work through the lessons.
• Answer the following questions
• Remember that your answers will be evaluated on accuracy, completeness, and specificity. In general, you will get a “C” if you do a good job but don’t give me all I ask for. You’ll get a “B” if you do a good job of giving me exactly what I ask for. However, an “A” will only be given to a good solid answer that goes above and beyond what I ask.
• You will note that I list questions as “short answer” or “essay.” For me an essay is written in paragraph style with complete sentences. A short answer can often be addressed in bulleted statements or incomplete sentences.

STEP 1 - Complete Assignment

Prepare your assignment in the file type and format as directed in the Exercise PDF.

Note: When naming this assignment file, you must use single-word filenames or insert an underscore between words (ex. Bob_Smith_Assignment1.doc or Bob_Smith_Map1.jpg). Blackboard will not recognize filenames with spaces, or characters that are not numbers or letters (ex. # $ % & < > { } [ ] @ ! ).

STEP 2 - Submit Assignment

HOW TO SUBMIT YOUR ASSIGNMENT:

1. Log into Blackboard and go to your Vegetation Measurement & Assessment course.
2. Go to Assignments.
3. Choose the assignment for this lesson.
4. Go to the bottom of the Web page and repeat the following steps for each file you wish to submit:
   • Select the Add Attachments file button
   • Select Browse to locate assignment
   • Select Open to select the assignment
   • Select OK to upload the assignment
5. Choosing the Submit assignment button to submit your assignment.
