Portrait from someone's doodle-drawing on the survey-poll!

List of films from (May 2019) in-class anonymous poll of Engl 222 History of Film 1945-Present top 10 films. Each of the films listed made it into someone’s top 10. Films in boldface appeared on someone’s list as the #1 ranked choice; films underlined appeared as someone’s #2 choice (so some films are both boldfaced and underlined). Also noted further below are examples of films that students selected/wrote about for the Midterm exam (included essays on two different films), Sequence Analysis Plus, and the Critical Essay (at minimum, one of these latter assignments, like the midterm, had to be on a foreign film). Also see two weblinks to further lists of recommended films. At the end of this webpate are films recommended by Engl 222 Spring 2019 students.
