Patrick J. HrdlickaProfessor Email: hrdlicka@uidaho.edu Phone: 208-885-0108 Dr. Hrdlicka obtained his Chemistry degrees from the Univ. Southern Denmark (B.Sc 2000, M.Sc. 2004, Ph.D. 2006). He joined the University of Idaho in 2006 and rose to his current rank of Full Professor by 2017. He has published >70 peer-reviewed articles, which have been cited over >1800 times. Research in the Hrdlicka laboratory has enjoyed external support from NIH-EUREKA, DoD/ONR, and Idaho SBOE. Dr. Hrdlicka is the recipient of several awards from the University of Idaho including the 2013 Excellence in Research and Creative Activity Award, the 2022 College of Science Advisory Board Faculty Fellowship, and the 2022 Donald Craford Graduate Faculty Mentoring Award. His research interests focus on applications of chemically modified oligonucleotides and nanomaterials as therapeutics, diagnostics and smart materials. More specifically, his team aims to develop:
Dr. Hrdlicka has served as a consultant for two US biotech companies and has been retained as a subject matter expert on several patent litigations pertaining to nucleoside and oligonucleotide chemistry, DNA sequencing, and siRNA representing Oxford Naopore Technologies (v. Pacific Biosciences of California), BGI Genomics (v. Illumina) and ChemGenes (v. Hongene) before the United States International Trade Comission (USITC), United States Patent and Trademark Office (USPTO), and different District Courts. Dr. Hrdlicka served as a member and (vice)-chair (2016-2018) of University of Idaho's Faculty Senate, co-chair of the Faculty Compensation Task Force (2016-2018), and as a Special Assistant to the Provost's Office (2018-2019). In his spare time, Dr. Hrdlicka enjoys spending time with his family and friends, playing competitive table tennis, and enjoying the great outdoors of the Pacific Northwest. |
