April 26, 2016: Dr. Charit
accepts the Presidential Mid-Career Award given by the University of
Idaho President, Dr. Chuck Staben. This award is given annually under
the auspices of the University Awards for Excellence.
August 20-21, 2015: Dr. Charit
served as one of the instructors for the Metallurgical and Materials
Engineering Professional Engineer (PE) Licensing Exam Review Course,
held at the TMS Headquarters, Warrendale, PA.

May 16, 2014: Both PhD students
(Sultan Alsagabi and Somayeh Pasebani) were hooded by Dr. Charit at the
University of Idaho spring commencement ceremony.
December 13, 2013: Somayeh
Pasebani (Dr. Charit's PhD student) receives the Alumni Award for
Excellence from the Alumni Association of the University of Idaho. Dr.
Charit also receives the same for excellence in mentoring.

Dec. 6, 2013: Dr. Charit is now
licensed as a professional engineer (PE) in the State of Idaho.
June 10-14, 2013: Somayeh wins the 'Silver
Neutron Award' at the Annual ATR (Advanced Test Reactor)-NSUF
(National Scientific Users Facility) workshop held in Idaho Falls,
Idaho, for her poster, 'Spark Plasma Sintering of Lanthana Bearing
Nanostructured Ferritic Steels'.
June 10-14, 2013: Two
PhD students (Sultan Alsagabi and Somayeh Pasebani) from Dr. Charit's
group attended the week-long ATR-NSUF workshop held in Idaho
Falls, Idaho, on travel scholarships granted by the ATR-NSUF
organization.

to Somayeh on winning the Henry
DeWitt Smith Scholarship from the TMS-AIME! This scholarship
will be awarded at the TMS 2014 Annual Meeting & Exhibition in San
Diego, California.

Triratna (Tri) Shrestha is awarded his PhD degree at the UI Spring
commencement on the Moscow campus. Congratulations Tri and wish you all
success in your new position!

student, is awarded the 'Outstanding Graduate Student Award' from
the College of Engineering, University of Idaho.

Pasebani (PhD student) wins the Student Poster Contest in the TMS
Structural Materials Division for her poster, "Effect of Alloying
Elements and Spark Plasma Sintering Parameters on Nano-Dispersion
Formation in Nanostructured Ferritic Steels" during the TMS Annual
Meeting held in San Antonio, Texas.

Applications) co-authored by Dr. Charit got published by Wiley-VCH,
Berlin, Germany
