Bahá'u'lláh set forth the plans for the administrative system
that would serve the Faith in the future. Later, Shoghi Effendi envisioned the order
of the buildings for these institutions at the Bahá'í Administrative Center. His
plans were for an arc that would center around the monuments of Bahá'u'lláh's exalted
wife, son, daughter, and daughter-in-law. Shoghi Effendi designed these monuments,
the International Archives building, and the Monument Gardens around which the future
buildings would also be placed (M-2). He used a Classical style because it is
timeless (L). After the passing of Shoghi Effendi in 1957, the Seat of the Universal
House of Justice was finished in 1983 (C-434). Now, the Center for the Study of the
Text and the International Teaching Center are near completion. These new buildings
will also compliment additional surrounding formal gardens, creating harmony between
nature and structure. Below, the positions of the buildings are representative of
their location on the arc, and the numbers correlate to the order of their completion. |
