*OCCUPANT OBSERVATIONS

Findings Review: The after examining the HOBO’s Data, it is noted that the humidity rarely fluctuated, which tells us the air is fairly stagnate in these spaces. The Survey, interview and investigation of the Niccolls has told us that there are no installed fans to move the air through the space. There is an HVAC system in the Basement level but there were no readings from the one room where this system is used. There are some individual AC units, but they are only in certain occupants offices. When interview people there were complaints of developing a cough in their office space which the attributed to the air quality of the space.

Finding Review: The light readings were all done on the same day and only took readings from the northern classrooms because they do not get the direct sunlight like the south side of the building. The measurements show that the brightest points in the plan are at the window as expected. It was a fairly dark day with the outside reading at 888fc. According to the book Sun, Wind, and Light; the recommended daylight factor for the latitude of Moscow, ID is 2-6%.(p253) The Averages of the rooms were between 8.7% and 4% for the dalight factor

Finding Review: The stairs and the elevator were both under the mean in the survey which tells us that these are problematic amongst the occupants. It is also important to see as you get higher in the building the approval of these means of egress decreases. In interviews with occupants, they told us that the top floor is partially cut off to the elevator because one has to pass through a classroom that holds classes on a regular basis block the use of the elevator or interrupting the classroom.
