Overview


The purpose of this module is to introduce you to the array of activities and roles that managers perform in organizations. Managing in today’s dynamic environment means strong management skills are more necessary than ever before.
 

Objectives


After completing this module, you will be able to:

1. Describe the basic functions of management and the types of activities associated with each.
2. Understand the skills and roles required for successful managers.
3. Understand the differences between efficiency and effectiveness and their importance for organizational performance
4. Become introduced to the changing business environment and appreciate the challenges facing today’s managers.
