Extra Credit Three/ Chapter 6 -- Your First Words

The development of language is an amazing milestone for young children, though they are communicating in many ways prior to the development of words.  Talk to your parents about your early speaking.  What were your first words?  What age did you start speaking?  What did your parents/ family/ siblings do to support your language development?  Did you sing as a family?  Read?  Tell stories?  What kinds of word games did you play, if any?  What kinds of verbal activities did you love/ respond to as a baby?  Get a sense of this stage in your personal history.

Type your response into a one page response.  If you don't respond fully to the prompt, you won't receive the extra credit.
