Course Lectures and Labs Both lecture and lab will be conducted within the computer lab and will consist of a brief lecture that outlines a sampling methodology, followed by detailed example problems that are intended to reinforce and demonstrate the methods covered in class. Assignments Assignments will consist of numerical, data analysis, and
critical thought exercises. Students are encouraged to work together, but
all work handed in must be your own. You must show all work on a separate
sheet, organize your answers and prepare your work neatly. Be sure to double
check your answer and determine if your answer is reasonable. Credit for
assignments will only be given if students show their work and doing so
allows for partial credit. Each assignment will be available on the course website
and should be handed in by the end of lecture/lab of the week following when
the material was covered. The best 7 graded assignments will count toward
your final grade. Written answers are encouraged to be typed and turned in
on a separate piece of paper. Any typed answers must use Times New Roman
12pt font, 1 inch margins, and at least 1.5 line spacing. Books & Resources

Extra Credit Policy: Although extra credit will be
offered often, it will only count towards your grade if you get at least
a D in the course. i.e. Extra Credit can improve your
grade but not make you pass. Grades: 90+ = A, 80-89 = B, 70-79 = C, etc This class rounds up but does not scale class scores. |
