Instructions

Post at least one comment to each of the questions listed below. Also post your own questions and thoughts on the lesson.

1. Is our food safe?
2. What are the advantages of pesticide use?
3. What are the disadvantages of pesticide use?
4. Debate the following: If pesticide use increases yields, then this is a good thing for the planet - since that much less land (rainforests, etc.) will have to be put into agricultural production to feed a growing world population.

How to Participate in the Discussion

1. Log into Blackboard and go to the foodTOX course.
2. Click on Discussion.
3. Choose the discussion topic Lecture discussions.
4. Reading Messages:
    
   • Under the Subject column click on a message.
   • If you see a Plus next to a message that means there are more messages in that thread. They can be expanded by clicking on the Plus.
5. Posting Messages:
    
   • Click on Create Message
   • Type your subject and message
   • Attach any files you need to
   • Press Post
