Hw#2: (Turned in Class)

Talk with your mom/ parents about your 1) conception, 2) pregnancy, 3) birth.  Find out things like – were you planned, do they know where you were conceived, how did your parents prepare for having you be born, was the pregnancy normal or were there problems, did your mom smoke, drink, take prescription drugs, exercise, eat her veggies, how long was your birth, how did your mom know she was in labor, how does she remember the birth process, were there any special devices/ interventions used during the birth process, how big were you when born, did you need any special care after your birth – if so, why, what were your parents reactions first seeing you.

Write this information into a 1-2 page summary.  Also mention if this was the first time you talked about this information and how you felt about it. 

At the top of your assignment, just below your name, put a list with the basic statistics about yourself (sex, weight at birth, length of labor, planned or not, birth order, home or hospital birth, medicated or natural birth, and single or multiple birth) and then write a summary of you & your parents story.  See the format below.

Note:  if your mom/ parents don’t want to talk about certain things (conception), just omit that part.  Also, if there are any parts that are too personal to share with me, you may omit those also.

I will share some elements of your stories in class – not mentioning any names.  And we'll see who the biggest babies in our class were... among other interesting statistics.
