The International Teaching Center is located on the eastern half of the Arc, below the Seat of the Universal House of Justice and directly across from the Center for the Study of the Text.  It will be the seat for the International Teaching Center.  This institution was established in 1973 by the Universal House of Justice.  In working in close consultation with the Universal House of Justice, this institution serves to protect and promulgate the Bahá'í Faith (G-8).

Architect Hossein Amanat and Project Manager Fariburz Sahba designed this large center to be predominately underground.  Thus, its smaller appearance above ground in comparison to the Seat of the Universal House of Justice visually establishes that the Institution of the Universal House of Justice is the supreme governing body of the Bahá' Faith.  Eight Ionic pillars in a semi-circular arc at the front and twelve Tuscan pillars in a circular arc in the back flank the exposed part of the center.  The vault window on top faces the Shrine of the Báb (L).
