The Center for the Study of the Text is located on the western
side of the Arc, below the Seat of the Universal House of Justice and directly across from
the International Teaching Center. It will be the seat (building) for a future
institution of Bahá'í scholars that will assist the Universal House of Justice in
research projects, conserve the Sacred Writings, and translate them to different languages
(M-5). Currently, the Sacred Writings are translated in over 800 languages
(W-1). To symbolize the
greater importance of the Universal House of Justice, nine stories of this center are
underground and covered with gardens. Keeping with the Classical style, Architect
Hussein Amanat and Project Manager Fariburz Sahba used eight Ionic pillars around the
entrance portico. This portico (left) allows light to penetrate down to the lower
levels of the center (L). Note that the ceiling design around these pillars is a
circular adaptation of the design on the Seat of the Universal House of Justice.
Although not shown here, the Greatest Name is also placed above its main doors. |
The arc buildings ornament the monument gardens. Much of this
center is underground behind its portico and will be covered over in additional gardens. |

A red crane is shown through out of the
portico of the Center for the Study of the Text, and the International Bahá'í Archives
building is seen below.
