The Monument Gardens are in the form of a semi-circle. The
Universal House of Justice is atop its apex, and the Monuments are in the lower
portion. This photo was taken facing the west side. Directly in the background
can be seen the International Archives building. To the right, the Center for the
Study of the Text can be seen through the trees. |

Exquisite detail ornaments the monument of the most holy woman of
the Bahá'í Faith, Bahá'u'lláh's daughter. She was entitled the Greatest Holy
Leaf by Bahá'u'lláh and accompanied her Father in exile. She continued serving the
Bahá'í Faith for the rest of her life. A few meters west are similar monuments of
her younger brother, entitled by Bahá'u'lláh as the Purest Branch, and mother, entitled
by Bahá'u'lláh as the Most Exalted Leaf. The Purest Branch passed away while the
Holy Family was in the prison of 'Akká. One day he was engaged in meditation and
fell through an open skylight of the prison. The Most Exalted Leaf also served
Bahá'u'lláh with complete devotion. She was a woman of extreme piety and will be
"His consort in every one of His worlds (V-34)." Back to Arc
