Lesson 2: Theories of Chemical Addiction
Theories of Chemical AddictionIntroduction:

Over the centuries, a wide variety of models have been proposed to account for the development of alcoholism and other chemical addictions.  Some have more validity than others.  Some of these models have been developed to coincide with the science or historical contexts known at the time.  This section reviews a variety of different models and provides the strengths and weaknesses of each model.  It also provides examines the reliability and validity of each model.

Goal: Learn about various theories associated with substance abuse and to understand the strengths and weaknesses with each model.

Outcomes: After completing this lesson you should understand / be able to:
